julie - I should follow your lead and post those unfinished sketches, it's always a challenge capturing the vibrancy of a pencil sketch in the finished product, isn't it? I'm waaaay out of practice doing gesture drawings from life, but that's something I want to do more of this year too.

rose - I usually use pens on paper, and then scan it it to add colors digitally. Doing the "inks" on the computer throws me for a loop because I can't just tilt the page when I need to. I like your watercolor work a lot, I have to get into the right state of mind to play with them, I can be such a control freak, lol!

Very Nice! This illustration is definitely doesn't have the depth of your typical work, but it is beautiful none the less...I'm impressed that this was done entirely digital. Do you normally use pen and ink and watercolor?
I love your work!

I love to see other peoples process... so can't wait to see sketches! I think having more then one working style is a good thing. Doing looser work can really help strengthen the hand-eye-art-making muscles; although the detail is great in this one and extraordinary in your other work. Great work! Julie
